Cycling amid quiet surroundings with stunning views in every direction

Few cyclists know this mountain pass itinerary, a superb balcony road overlooking the Aravis range.

It’s a tough climb with a 12% gradient on some sections. But at the top of the Col des Annes you’ll find a restaurant as well as a beautiful view!

Mountain itinerary starting in Le Grand-Bornand centre. On the descent from the Col des Annes, beware of a section where water is channelled across the road.
  • Le Grand-Bornand -> Les Plans -> Col des Annes: from the Tourist Office, take road D4e towards Vallée du Bouchet / Col des Annes. At Les Plans chapel, turn left onto the mountain pass road, Route du Col des Annes.
  • Col des Annes -> Le Grand-Bornand : at the pass, turn back to follow the same itinerary back down to Le Grand-Bornand.

  • A site in Le Grand-Bornand that families absolutely must visit: La Source. Full of fun features, this ancient mountain chalet is open from June to September.

  • Need to rent a bike? In Le Grand-Bornand village centre you’ll find E-bikes and road bikes at the rental shops.
  • Fancy a foodie break? Try the potato fritters and traditional Reblochon cheese at the Col des Annes
