A variety of ski areas to keep everyone happy

Fancy gentle, sun-drenched slopes, or a thrilling descent on the moguls? Welcome to the Annecy Mountains!

Their variety and quality make the downhill ski areas of the Annecy Mountains very appealing. For an hour, a day or a whole week, these slopes have something to satisfy every preference. From family-friendly resorts with a human feel and great views, such as La Sambuy or Le Semnoz, to the vast ski areas in the heart of the Aravis mountains, like La Clusaz-Manigod and Le Grand-Bornand, you can ski alone or with family or friends, at top speed or at your own gentle pace. Either way, you’ll enjoy a warm and friendly atmosphere with all sorts of activities and entertainment organised by the different resorts. The regular ski buses will drop you off right by the lifts with your skis, snowboard, skates, sledge or paret sledge… And if you’ve already purchased your lift pass online, you can go straight to the snowy slopes without further ado. With lift passes that adapt to your needs – from just an hour to the whole season – and special liberty passes, student passes, duo passes, family passes, child passes and senior passes… you’ll find prices to suit every budget and great deals to open the season at each resort. Enjoy!

Fun slopes, great for learning

While the small resorts are ideal for families and beginners, the larger resorts offer fun areas and learning slopes that are very popular, such as the new Reblochon slope in La Clusaz which promotes awareness of the local wildlife and pastoral farming practices. Le Grand-Bornand has a brand new beginners slope in the Charmieux sector, a new, safe sledging slop in the Outalays sector, and two new fun slopes in the ski area, the Môm’Park for freestylers and the Défi Môm’ theme slope, a nod to the flagship event held here in late summer!

Freestyle thrills

The Annecy Mountains have a few surprises in store for adrenalin addicts.

Freestyle fans and those who just want to liven up their descents with a jump or two, head for the snowparks of Le Semnoz, Le Grand-Bornand or La Clusaz to try your craziest figures. These slopes feature various modules of increasing difficulty, where skiers of all levels can enjoy themselves. La Clusaz even has a freestyle area for beginners, the LCZ Family Run where you can safely have a go.
Enjoy high speed descents? Come and test your braking skills against the top-speed indicator on the Laquais slope in La Clusaz. A fun and original way to anticipate the risks that come with uncontrolled speed. Or try the Alpina ESF Experience on the Glisse en Cœur slope. A timed and filmed slalom descent to find out if you match up to the champions of Le Grand-Bornand.
And for a thrilling break from skiing, step out onto the 6.5-metre Balme walkway. You’ll find yourself looking down at a void hundreds of metres below, or above a sea of cloud with the sensation of flying over the rooftop of Europe. A moment you’ll never forget!

Night skiing, torchlit descents, sledging, paret sledging, snakesledding... the resorts of the Annecy Mountains have no shortage of ideas for prolonging the pleasure.

Home of the paret sledge and a choice spot for night skiing, with 8 lit-up slopes served by 4 ski lifts, Manigod beckons you this winter to ski under the stars and take part in the paret-sledging championship. Skiing “at sunset” in Le Grand-Bornand or snakesledding in La Sambuy are great ways to round off a pleasant day. And why not try the night skiing experience with a torchlit descent in Montmin? Every Friday during the February half-term holidays, this small resort run by volunteers invites you to share a moment of simplicity and togetherness along with a delicious glass of mulled wine.
