Bread and tarts cooked in Verthier communal oven for sale ; local cheese, bugnes (sweet fritters) and bar.
2:30 pm: “Verthier au fil de l’histoire” (Verthier in the course of History) visit commented by a Heritage Guide from the Pays de Savoie des Amis de Viuz-Faverges. The Eau Morte river and the Lake allowed for the development of Verthier, one of the oldest villages constituting Doussard. This place inspired painters Prosper Dunant and Firmin Salabert. This route allows you to travel back to a time when the old bridge was a toll bridge (in the XIIIth century), when watermills were supplied by races using the force of water, when the main mode of transport to reach Annecy was the boat. The rest of the visit leads you to the discovery of an old chapel and of the traditional habitat: a farm with 4-sided roofs, Maison Blain (from the XVth century), a beautiful example of a bourgeois house.
Meet up in front of the oven.
From 4 pm onwards on Verthier bridge: traditional dancing and singing with “les P’tious de Jean de Vovray”.
